Unity had nothing to do with the closure. Ubisoft has been in a poor financial state for the past few years and in an effort to recuperate, several projects have been axed and internal studios either downsized or shuttered completely. Unfortunately, a majority of the FGOL team was let go as part of the continued corporate downsizing of Ubisoft.
Currently, both Hungry Shark games are now managed by the fine folks at Ubisoft Barcelona Mobile
It's irony
Hello! This was part of an event where the game was cursed for Halloween! There should be an update rolling out shortly that removes this from the game.
The eyes are the red :)
At least one of these is correct
Incredibly late to this thread, but once you finish the quest you should notice Francis' markings now illuminate in various different colors (as opposed to just blue). This effect is temporary and only lasts until the end of the run. You can still see the effect after finishing the quest by going to the same area in Pacific and touching the baby shark
The date is Feb 6th. They're using Euro date format
Was a bug, it's been changed to Turtles
Please just don't in general. Giving these people attention is exactly what they want, and it just creates more mess for us to clean up
Tip! if you want to see stuff like this fixed, contact support in-game and send a ticket. It will be passed on to the dev team. There is a good chance they may not even know this issue exists
( note that you need an app such as APKMirror Installer to install and a 64-bit device)
Stat boost for meg is here!
There are a lot of thoughts I have on this topic in general, but personally I think this message from a (former) head dev is a pretty good summation of why the "must be bigger/stronger!" line of thinking is an insanely flawed way to look at the games at this point
the games have kind of written themselves into this strange corner with the fanbase, because now everyone has been conditioned to expect "new shark >>>>> old shark" every single time, without ever thinking about what it would look like or whether it would be good game design. when i bought MSJ for the first time I genuinely questioned "how do they top this? there's no way they are topping this." if this blurb is any indication, i think FGOL themselves had the same question. people often underestimate how difficult game design actually is
I personally don't mind the general direction they are going with new sharks and ultimately believe its probably better and more exciting for the game. I think it is much less that they're "running out of ideas", (quantum is very unique and I think will become a favorite once its potential is fully discovered) and more that they are using the Apex tier at this point to house a range of strong sharks with creative playstyles. because it's more fun that way and not just "each shark MUST be more broken than the last"
Trust me when I say, you will enjoy the game more and be much happier once you take off the power-scaling goggles and stop expecting each shark to be a godlike deity that wipes the entire map. that's my two cents
@ML v2 this is a cancelled update from 2018 that was tested in AU/NZ and didn't see a full launch due to highly negative reception. besides the unused skins (and the lootboxes/energy mechanics that nobody wanted), there is really nothing substantial in this "dev version" that isn't a part of the current game already
Also, Panlong is now available as a skin in the new Splash Pass
Spoke to a dev about this once and he said "exclamation mark sharks" is a term that gets passed around sometimes, but internally sharks are mostly referred to by tier number (tier 6 is XXL, tier 7 is !!, etc.)
After doing some editing and a scan-through of some pages, I am proposing the deletion of several (if not all) of the pages created for missions in HSE. When it comes to cleaning up and organizing wikis, I tend to feel the "quality over quantity" approach is what we should be striving for. There is barely any content on many of these pages (such as the one linked below), nor do I believe that the missions/quests are particularly notable enough or have enough info to justify having separate pages. I think it would be much preferable to have them all on a singular page (with sections for missions on each shark page of course), but would like to hear the community's opinion before going through with this.

Some of the team is actually working on the in-dev HS Primal concurrently + in general, HSW updates are larger and need more prepping before release
You can expect a juicy Shark Week update this month, with the aforementioned GGJ manta ray event to come in Sep-Oct (per link below). people are doing their jobs fine
You can still view stats in the Settings panel (gear icon) under "More Settings". Lab sharks are also still accessible on the main menu screen (the yellow row of sharks under the main ones)
