- Not to be confused with Abysshark from Hungry Shark Evolution.
“ | Freed from the Abyss, this shark comes to warn of great threats and help see the future | ” |
The Abyssal Shark is the 7th Apex shark in Hungry Shark World. He is the enhanced Apex version of the Dark Magic Shark and his mutated form.
Price[]
He is the only Apex tier shark that needs items to be unlocked (Abyss Runes). He needs 200 Abyss Runes to be unlocked. During a former event, Abyss Runes could be found commonly around Corals, but as of now, Abyss Runes spawn randomly across every map. He needs 8000 pearls to be purchased.
Description[]
Abyssal Shark is a powerful shark Hungry Shark World. As the seventh Apex shark and the second highest ranked, Abyssal Shark boasts impressive stats and features.
This shark is an older, mutated and larger version of the Dark Magic Shark, with additional symbols on the back of his body. He also features golden armor on his head, lower jaw, pectoral fins, and caudal fins, giving him a regal and imposing appearance.
While Abyssal Shark can be obtained through a special offer, players can also purchase him with 8000 Pearls, the in-game currency. However, unlike most of the Apex Tier Sharks, Abyssal Shark has a higher pearl price and requires players to collect 200 abyss runes in order to purchase.
Abyssal Shark is capable of consuming almost anything in his path, with the exception of Red Jellyfish, Lion's Mane Jellyfish, Proximity Mines, Mega Mines, and Ultra Mines. In addition, Abyssal Shark can also cast two spells that have a significant impact on his targets from a mid-range distance.
Powers and Abilities[]
Abyssal Shark can eat/destroy everything with his abilities. Abyssal Shark's special abilities include fireballs and snowflake lasers, and can combine the two.
- Fire Spell: Abyssal Shark can create a ball of fire which kills prey while also increasing boost speed. The fireball will spin around him when he isn’t boosting, but can be directed when he does. Abyssal Shark does not need to eat to charge this ability and it charges very fast. He can also eat to charge the spell up to a maximum of three fireballs, which will spin around Abyssal Shark to create a fire field which kills prey. Fire Spell can be activated using the skill button and will last a short amount of time if activated as one fireball, but will last longer with two fireballs and lasts a very long time with three.
- Ice Spell: Like Fire Spell, this ability can be activated using the skill button. However, in order to do this you must first press the switch button. The switch button is located below the bottom left corner of the skill button and can be used to rotate between abyssal shark’s two elements, ice and fire. Once activated, Ice Spell creates a snowflake which hovers near Abyssal Shark and shoots a laser if prey is nearby and kills it. Like fire spell it can be charged up to three flakes, and when boosting the lasers can be directed and will spin around Abyssal Shark shooting lasers in all directions when not boosting. This ability is slightly more powerful then fire spell but decreases Abyssal Shark’s boost speed. Maximum is three.
- Fire Field: This ability is activated while fire spell is in action and is charged up to three. The fireballs will spin around abyssal shark killing prey if he is not boosting.
- Ice Field: This ability is activated in the same way as fire field but is slightly more effective.
- Combined spells: This isn’t an ability as much two abilities in one, but still counts. This ability is activated by casting a spell whilst the other is still active. This ability is extremely powerful because with it you can shoot lasers to your heart’s content because of the snowflakes, but rather then being slowed down you will be speeded up thanks to the fireball! On top of that, if the ice lasers don’t kill the prey, the fireballs still will. While boosting, the ice lasers will be shot forward and the fireballs directed, while when not boosting the spells will spin around abyssal shark, shoot lasers in all directions (only if ice spell is charged up to three) as well as creating a fire field (only if fire spell is three).
- Flight: Like his predecessor, Cosmic Alan, Abyssal shark can fly through the air without boosting (aka, “swim in air”).
Appearance[]
Abyssal Shark is a visually impressive creature with a distinctive appearance that sets him apart from other sharks. While he bears some resemblance to his original counterpart, Dark Magic Shark, Abyssal Shark is much larger in size and features several unique characteristics.
One of the most noticeable features of Abyssal Shark is the abundance of symbols on his body, which give him a mystical and otherworldly appearance. The shark also has golden armor-like parts on his head, lower jaw, and six lower fins, which add to his intimidating look.
In terms of coloration, Abyssal Shark has a plain purple body that resembles a Leopard Shark, but with additional features that sets him apart. For example, he has four glowing eyes in his tail that appear to go through his body, and he can also emit a glowing aura similar to his original counterpart. The shark also has three dorsal fins, which are outlined in purple on his upper body and have red-violet dorsal fins on the back of the edges.
Overall, Abyssal Shark is a unique and impressive creature, with a distinctive appearance that is sure to turn heads.
Pros and Cons[]
Pros:[]
- Ridiculously high boost
- Maxed out abilities used together destroy everything.
- Nearly endless boost along with extra speed when using fire spell makes up for slow speed overall.
- Easier to obtain than Mecha-Sharkjira and Shin Sharkjira (latter costs 12k pearls in total and 90 quests)
- Abilities charged while being used, thus cooldown is severely reduced.
- Can swim in air (like Cosmic Alan)
- Ice Spell is better than Dark Magic Shark's lasers since it seems to have a longer range and can go around Abyssal Shark.
- Boost drains slowly and replenishes at normal speed, thus you can hold down boost for increased speed.
- Small and can fit into places easier than other Apex sharks.
Cons:[]
- Very slow without fire spell or boosting.
- The Ice Spell sometimes appears and reappears making it hard to kill some enemies.
- Extremely high cost (same as Cosmic Alan, 8k pearls but requires to grind Runes unlike Cosmic Alan)
- Bad for surviving Extinction Mode as it has many vulnerabilities, low health, and somewhat high health drain
- Abilities take a LOT of eating to get to Level 3 and upon use become Level 1 again
- Fireballs spell ability gets smaller and destroy less prey in a certain radius whenever the ability button needs to be recharge again.
- Less offensive playstyle than SSJ, Cosmic Alan or even arguably DMS, yet less defensive playstyle than MSJ. Average playstyle.
Tips[]
- Always use your Fire Spell first since it drastically boosts Abyssal Shark similar to that of Meltdown Shark.
- Combine the spells at the start of the game so you can level up much faster, unless you're reviewing his abilities.
- Don't try to eat enemy sharks (in South China Sea etc,) since it takes time, so use the Fire Spell at will since it recharges very fast.
- Use the Ice or Fire field when you're trying to save baby sharks (to unlock Gaia) from the evil enemies since it can destroy them with his lasers.

- He is similar in name to the Abysshark from Hungry Shark Evolution. However, these two have no relation.
- He is shown in comics as a friend of Cosmic Alan.
