Abyssaurus Rex is an evolved shark in Hungry Shark Evolution added with version 8.6.0. He's the evolved version of Abysshark (Shark From The Depths), making Abysshark a bigger and stronger shark. He was only available on hauwei but has since been added to Android. He gets a gold rush much faster and sooner than his regular form of Abysshark, requiring only 200,000 points to trigger Gold Rush, instead of 400,000 points.

Cost

Abyssaurus requires Abysshark to be bought with 900 gems or 500,000 coins. Then, Abysshark can be evolved with 300 gems. On discount, the Abysshark can be bought with 250,000 Coins or 125 Gems and for his evolved form, it requires 45 Gems on discount to evolve into Abyssaurus Rex.

Diet

The Abyssaurus can now eat Evil Krakens and Evil Luminites but not Evil Behemoths and Enemy Vikings when evolved. In this form, Abyssaurus is stronger than Magmajira because Abyssaurus is put in order after Magmajira. When evolving, Abyssaurus now surpasses the next 2 main sharks above him. Other than new additions to his diet, Abyssaurus can eat everything except Evil Behemoths and Enemy Vikings.

Abilities

Abyssaurus Rex has a higher health stat than his original form, with 575 health compared to the original's 425. Additionally, he has a larger and more effective bite radius. In terms of abilities, the evolved form of Abyssaurus surpasses his regular form, with a total of 5 abilities compared to the original's 3. The evolved form has 3 improved abilities carried over from the original form, which remain exactly the same, and 2 new abilities that were not present in Abysshark's original form.

• Void Mouth (Improved): Abyssaurus' Void Mouth ability is wider and colored purple, and can absorb more things, including enemy sharks, at an accelerated speed compared to his unevolved form. The ability charges slightly faster than his unevolved counterpart, making it more efficient.

• Mind Control (Hypnosis): Abyssaurus' Mind Control ability has a wider radius and is now purple in color. When prey is stunned, they will follow Abyssaurus wherever he goes, allowing him to easily consume them. Stunned prey also yield 2x points when eaten, similar to the Abysshark's original ability, making it a more powerful version of an old ability.

• Crawls on Land (Improved): He crawls on land in a faster pace than his unevolved counterpart, Abysshark This is an improved old ability.

• Angler Friends: A new ability unique to Abyssaurus, he can create three Anglerfish Pets that follow him and prey on nearby targets. When he creates an Anglerfish Pet, an accolade appears from the anglerfish that says "Join me, friend!!".

• Deep Water Camouflage: Abyssaurus has the ability to change colors in deeper water, which he uses to control Anglerfishes and make them his pets. This is a unique ability that the Abysshark does not possess, as he lacks the ability to change colors in the depths.

Abyssaurus is also able to destroy cracked rocks at will and unlike stronger sharks like Behemoth, he can withstand extreme heat from sources such as Enemy Pyro Shark or Fire Geysers. This allows him to continue eating dozens of prey, despite enduring burns on his body, this might be a bug, but it has been on the game since it's first release.

Appearence

Abyssaurus resembles his regular form, but with a more robust and compact build, fewer jaws, and larger teeth. He possesses cartoony dinosaur features such as dino spikes, a T-Rex-shaped snout, and small raptor-like legs. His arms feature Abysshark's fins and larger, dinosaur-like claws.

• Not very vulnerable to submarines, unlike his pre evolved form.
• Speed, bite and boost are 200% increased when maximum.
• Crawls on land, just like his pre - evolved form.
• Better bite radius than his previous form.
• Very fast and large amount of boost.
• Void mouth charges slightly faster.
• Can eat almost everything.
• Bte radius isn't very good, Abyssaurus can miss prey, but after a while he can get a good bite range.
• Can make 3 anglerfish pets with mind control which follow and eat prey.
• Has the biggest team in the game: 3 anglerfish and 5 babies.
• Can change colors when going in deep water. This can help the player to find certain areas deep in the sea.
• Can eat enemy pyro sharks while burned.

Cons

• VERY fast, I mean EXTREMELY fast health drain, even with Baby Abyss but lessened.
• Costs A LOT to upgrade, same as Magmajira.
• Less health than Magmajira.
• Outclassed by Magmajira in Gold Rush and points. (sometimes)
• Bad bite radius is a major problem with this shark, as the Void mouth charges slowly.
• New body is stiff and can get hit easier than previous.
• Heavily outclassed by Behemoth and Sharknarok.
• Can't kill Evil Behemoths and Enemy Vikings, even with abilities, unlike Aaron, Sharkjira, Kraken, Luminite, Magmajira, Behemoth, Sharknarok and even Fin, Finn n Finny.

Tips

• Do NOT boost when fish are few in amounts, you may miss them and maybe lose your multiplier.
• When in gold rush, use your "Void Mouth" ability to collect and eat as much food as possible for more points and gold.
• Use the shark vortex with this shark so you can have the ultimate absorption power.
• If you want a lot of Gold, then use gold increasing accessories as this shark can get a lot of gold, so you can have even more. (The crown and the things shown in the image are really good items for this shark to get gold.)

Trivia

• Abyssaurus Rex is a reference to Tyrannosaurus Rex, one of the most famous dinosaurs, a prehistoric reptile that existed nearly 65.5 million years ago MYA during the very end of the late Cretaceous Period. It is possible that Abyssaurus Rex is a hybrid that has the DNA of Abysshark, combined with the DNA of Tyrannosaurus Rex.
• Abyssaurus Rex can also break rocks like all other sharks above Moby Dick. Along with all the other improvements above, Abyssaurus is, as of version 8.7.0, immune to toxic barrels, like Sharkjira, Magmajira, Luminite and Moby Dick. As the bio says, he lives where the ocean meets the core of Earth. Abyssaurus is immune to toxic barrels, and it's environment, the core of Earth, is full of toxicity.

• Abyssaurus Rex is the first shark to surpass an evolved shark. DarkHammer surpasses Megalodon and Shar-khan surpasses Big Daddy. Lord Snappy surpasses Leo (Liopleurodon) and Aaron, the Destruktor surpasses Nessie. Magmajira surpasses Luminite, but there was no main shark surpassing Luminite at the time. Thus, Abyssaurus Rex surpasses Magmajira, making Abyssaurus the first evolved shark to surpass another evolved shark. Even after Behemoth got released, it still surpasses Magmajira.
  • That also makes Abyssaurus technically broken, as evolved sharks are meant to surpass three bigger sharks, but Abyssaurus doesn't surpass Behemoth. Hopefully this will get fixed in the future.

• Abyssaurus is shown as the current strongest shark in the game so far, atltough some say that Magmajira is the strongest while others say that Luminite or Kraken is the strongest. Kraken is certainly not as estimated as the strongest as the other 3. But is they add more evolutions for 3 other sharks and they add an evolution for the Kraken, Kraken will possibly be the strongest.
• Abyssaurus Rex is not scaled up in size, but the other evolved sharks are. The other 5 evolved sharks are larger in size than their pre evolved forms, yet, Abysshark actually seems to be the same size or even slightly smaller than his pre evolved form, being slightly smaller in size than Kraken, Luminite and Magmajira.
• Unlike Magmajira, Abyssaurus does not gain as much health as Magmajira does, who has a health of 400 that reaches 750 when evolved. Abyssaurus has a health from 425 that reaches just 575 when evolved. Also, Abyssaurus's mind control, even when improved, is not nearly as big or wide as Magmajira's fire wave during gold rush. Finally, Abyssaurus does not have a good bite compared to Magmajira. Magmajira does not miss prey usually, but Abyssaurus does miss prey sometimes. These 3 are some serious advantages that Magmajira posseses over Abyssaurus. Some people can say that Magmajira is stronger, as he has more health and his fire wave is wider than the mind control. Despite this, Abyssaurus remains for now the current strongest shark in the game. And still, Abyssaurus is surpassed by Magmajira in certain things (bite, fire wave, health) but has his advantages over Magmajira too. Abyssaurus's void mouth is wider and possibly better than Magmajira's atomic breath. Abyssaurus crawls on land faster too. Abyssaurus can also make 3 anglerfish pets. And finally, Abyssaurus has an indicator than the water is deep.
• Abyssaurus's ability to make 3 anglerfish pets which follow and eat prey is similar to that of Zombie Shark and Zombie shark's evolved form, the Alpha Zombie Shark, which is to make 3 sharks zombie followers. Abyssaurus likely uses his mind control to make the angler fish followers. Something similar happens with DarkHammer, because when you play with Darkhammer, when you press his skill button, he releases a small team, again of 3 very small Hammerhead ghost sharks, that follow and eat prey. The pets of DarkHammer explode like those of Zombie Shark. Abyssaurus seems that he keeps his pets, and he likely eats them if wants to.
• His Deep Water Camouflage form resembles the Enemy Abysshark.
• Abyssaurus can have the biggest team in the entire game and series of Hungry Shark. In Hungry Shark World, the Zombie Shark and Alpha Zombie Shark can have up to 6 pets, consisting of 3 zombies and 3 babies. Abyssaurus can use Baby Abyss, 4 additional babies, and 3 anglerfish followers, which totals to 8 members.
  • With the Corsair Hat equipped, it can have 3 sailfish as additional crew members, totaling up to 11 companions at once.
• Abyssaurus was not immune to toxic barrels. As of 8.7.0 update, Abyssaurus is immune to toxic barrels, like Magmajira.
• Abyssaurus changes colors in deep water. Kraken changes colors when close to sharks, while Luminite changes his fin colors from blue to orange and red when his health is low. These are warnings when possibly bigger sharks than Kraken are near him, like enemy Luminite or potentially larger enemy sharks upcoming in the future, and the second is a warning to Luminite when health is low. Abyssaurus's color change might be a warning that the water is deep, and there are potentially large sharks in deep water, as always, but still, Abyssaurus can eat everything and we all know when the water is deep. Still, an indicator that the water is deep is better than not having one.
• The glitch is to be able to eat Evil Luminite as Sharkjira, Abysshark and Kraken is fixed. Still, Sharkjira can kill him with Atomic breath, kraken with drill and whips. Abysshark can't eat Evil Luminites, but he can as Abyssaurus Rex.
• Abyssaurus Rex has 4 jaws, which is less than the 6 jaws the normal Abysshark has. However, Abyssaurus's mouth is bigger.
• The bio says that Abyssaurus lives in the core of the Earth. That's however yet to be discussed, as there is no real evidence that there are whole oceans in Earth's core, but rather just some sources of water and little tunnels.
• Abyssaurus's true power could be still hidden, as this shark has a great potential to become even better than Magmajira.
• Although evolved sharks are supposed to surpass the 3 successors of their original form, Abyssarurus Rex only surpasses 2. Being Kraken and Luminite.
  • Even this is arguable, as Abyssaurus has no way to eat Evil Behemoth without gold rush, while Kraken and Luminite can. So can Sharkjira in his original form. (Abysshark needs buffing)
    • The ironic thing is that the bio says ''undefeated''.
• Abyssaurus has Magmajira in his "eats" section despite Enemy Magmajiras only spawning for Behellmouth. This is also true for Shar-khan and Aaron, the Destruktor, but for the evolutions that precede them, being DarkHammer and Lord Snappy respectively.
  
• Abyssaurus Rex is actually not much different from the original Abysshark in version 7.3.0. (with some little buff like toxic immunity, angler fish pets, color change and faster land crawling, as well as better mind control)

On a recent Tweet of the Official Hungry Shark Twitter Account (talking about an occuring event for Abyssaurus) @Hungry_Shark , It is revealed that there are some containing species of the Abyssaurus Rex, this means that the Abyssaurus Rexs' are slightly expanding after it's harness of evolution.. There's possibly a chance that the Abysshark is the rarest of them all and must be the only living related species of the Abyssaurus Rexs.
