— In-game description

Abysshark is a shark added in a Hungry Shark Evolution update (Feb 3, 2020). He is a shark from the depths (The Abyss) that uses his large, demonic mouth to attack. He has a max size of 15 meters and a max health of 425 (previously 700 before the Shark Invaders update).

Abilities[]

Abysshark's Void Mouth

Abysshark's Void Mouth Ability

  • Void Mouth: To activate this ability, press the purple button located in the lower right corner of the screen. The Abysshark's powerful suction will draw in any objects it comes into contact with, with the exception of larger sharks, which are not affected.

Abysshark's Mind Control Ability

Abysshark's Mind Control Ability

  • Mind Control: During Gold Rushes, the Abysshark's ability is automatically activated, stunning any creature that approaches too closely and yielding 2x points. However, stunned creatures will regain their mobility if the Abysshark moves too far away from them.

Abysshark crawl

Abysshark Crawling on Land

  • Crawls on Land: The Abysshark is capable of crawling on land, which allows him to move at a relatively fast pace.

Like other sharks larger than Moby Dick, the Abysshark has the ability to break rocks. He is the first "shark" to have an actual crawling animation, which allows him to crawl on land. Although Nessie and Leo are also capable of crawling on land, they do not move their body in the same way as the Abysshark.

Appearance[]

Abysshark is an eyeless, big & bulky shark with dorsal fins resembling webbed spikes on his back. Although looking like a Demogorgon from the show Stranger Things, his appearance can also be compared with the mutated monster from the South Korean horror film The Host. The Abysshark has an unusual tail fin & claws at the end of each pectoral fin. His stomach contains a pattern that resembles gills. He also has a spinny tail and body muscles. His body also slightly resembles Jawfrey from Hungry Dragon.

While most missions are easy to complete even without accessories or babies, some missions are nearly impossible to complete (Sharkain Bolt & The Shadow Over Sharksmouth) without suitable equipment. Sharkmmelier is easier to complete with the portal to Shawaii. Once there, look for bottles coloured in green, purple, orange, etc, which are usually located just below the surface.

Trivia[]

  • The Abysshark was the final shark listed in the old Hungry Shark menu before Kraken was added.
  • Sharkjira was better than Abysshark in the old Hungry Shark Evolution menu, but now they are equally good.
  • The Abysshark has been nerfed, with his Void Mouth ability now taking a longer time to charge and requiring 400,000 points for a Gold Rush, compared to the previous requirement of 200,000 points. Prior to the introduction of the Kraken and the nerfing of the Abysshark, his Void Mouth ability charged at a speed similar to or even faster than the Kraken's Whips of Chaos ability charge time at present.
  • While most say Sharkjira is better, their maximum strength in their unevolved forms is equal.
  • There is a belief that the Abysshark is capable of increasing the number of teeth in his mouth, which enhances the deadliness of his Void Mouth ability.
  • Sharkjira can kill Evil Krakens, Evil Luminites, Evil Behemoths and Evil Sharknaroks with his Atomic breath, but Abysshark cannot kill them even with Void Mouth.
  • Abysshark can eat Evil Krakens and Evil Luminites when evolved to Abyssaurus Rex. Unfortunately, he isn't nearly strong enough to defeat Evil Behemoths and Evil Sharknaroks.
  • The quest "The Shadow over Sharksmouth" is a reference to "The Shadow over Innsmouth", a horror fiction novella by H.P Lovecraft, possibly selected due to the novella also containing an eldritch entity.
