Cold Rush was the equivalent to a Gold Rush in the Christmas Wonderland, a place in the 2014 update reached by eating an Elf. It is in bold blue print, as shown below. It has the same features as a Gold Rush, but freezes all prey as well as making them gold. If you are undergoing a Gold Rush when eating an Elf, the Gold Rush will transform into a Cold Rush in the Christmas Wonderland.
The special occurrence that occurs during a Cold Rush, and sets it apart from a standard Gold Rush, is that all live prey will become encased in ice cubes, similar to what would happen if they are frozen by Ice Shark. All live prey will still yield coins in a Cold Rush, and even some inanimate objects like the various Christmas decorations will also reward coins.
Cold Rush was also obtainable in the Arctic Land, where it works in the same way besides having the same music as a generic Gold Rush. When the Arctic Land was replaced with the Titanic Zone, it was removed and replaced with the generic Gold Rush.

- The Cold Rush had its own music that is different from Gold Rush's theme. It sounded more like a Christmas song with bells and other instruments associated with Christmas. When the Christmas Wonderland was replaced with the Arctic Land, it was changed to share the same music with Gold Rush.
- The original theme of Cold Rush also played when getting a normal Gold Rush during Christmas time.
- A Gold Rush that occurs would become a Cold Rush if the Arctic Land or Christmas Wonderland was entered while the Gold Rush is active.
- It no longer occurs in the Titanic Zone.
