Not to be confused with the Giant Enemy Crab from Hungry Shark Evolution
The Crab Boss, Giant Enemy Crab, or simply Giant Crab, was a boss in Hungry Shark: Part 2. It spawned in the lower left of the Caves of Doom, a labyrinthine deep-water area filled with Mines, Toxic Barrels, Anglerfish, crabs, and Blobfish. Due to its immense size, the crab cannot be directly consumed, thus the player must defeat it by dodging its pincer attacks 3 times before boosting into a weak spot marked on the crab's mouthparts. After hitting it 3 times, this weak spot will turn red, and must be hit a 4th time before killing the crab.
In the Caves of Doom, a large cluster of Mega Mines are found to the left of its interior, blocking off the passage to Fatman's Cove. If touched, all the Mega Mines explode in a chain reaction and kill the shark. However, attacking the Crab Boss in its final weakened state leads the injured crustacean to blunder into the minefield, obliterating both the Crab Boss and mines and therefore opening access to Fatman's Cove.
Trivia[]
- It was the first boss in the entire franchise.
- It is depicted in the loading screen of Hungry Shark: Part 2, looming behind the wreck of an ocean liner named "Curly Sue". However, it is significantly smaller in-game.
- The Crab Boss being referred to as the "Giant Enemy Crab" and displaying the accolade "Massive Damage!" when attacked is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Sony's notorious E3 2006 press conference, during which the PlayStation 3 was demonstrated. This is true of its successor in Hungry Shark Evolution as well.
- Due to the rather small range of its pincers, the Giant Crab cannot be weakened by swimming above it, unlike its Evolution counterpart. You must go very close to it, then avoid the attacks, or swim beside it and boost away from its attacks until its weak spot is exposed.
- Multiple smaller crabs and Blobfish spawn near it, helping heal the player should they take any damage.
- In the Android version of Hungry Shark: Part 2, its sprite is at a very low resolution, as it shares identical sprites with regular Crab prey and is scaled up from them.
