Cretoxyrhina is the ancient ancestor of the modern Great White Shark. Creto can stun prey with rapid strikes while moving around, making it easy to grab a bite!

— In-game description

Creto (Cretoxyrhina) is a Common Shark from Hungry Shark Primal. Until version 0.1.4, he was the first shark in the game and was unlocked by default; Dunk has since replaced it as the introductory shark.

Abilities[]

AbilityIcon KnockOut
  • Knock Out: Enemies you run into whilst boosting are stunned for a short period of time.

Pros and Cons[]

Pros[]

  • The ability helps Creto eat easily without much struggle and fend off attackers like Anomalocaris
  • Fast and agile, allowing him to catch prey with ease
  • All-rounded stats
  • Good bite

Cons[]

  • Ability is less useful than other sharks' abilities
  • Though decent, may be considered the weakest shark in the game

Trivia[]

  • Contrary to his in-game description, Cretoxyrhina is not closely related to nor is the ancestor of the Great White.
    • Keep in mind that the Megalodon is not the Great White's ancestor, as it has been proven that the two co-existed. As the Otodus family (Megalodon's family) is more closely related to a different shark known as Cretalamna, it may be possible that Cretoxyrhina is the ancestor to the Megalodon instead. (not confirmed)
  • Creto, like all other 5 creatures in the game, can eat all of the creatures in the game at Level 1 and only needs to level up in order to break some barriers, unlike previous installments where the next shark is stronger than the previous one.
  • His ability is similar to that of Shar-khan, from Hungry Shark Evolution.
  • Creto is actually larger in size than most of the other creatures in the game, despite being the first shark. He is larger than Aquilo, Rhizodus, Lio, and Dunk. The only shark in the game larger than Creto is Thal.
  • Creto the only actual shark in the game, as Lio, Dunk, Rhiz and Thal aren't sharks, but rather mesozoic reptiles and armored fish, and Aquilo isn't a confirmed true shark, as there is an on going debate onto whether or not his species should considered an actual shark or just a shark like elasmobranch.
