— In-game description
|
The DarkHammer is an evolved shark in Hungry Shark Evolution, added with version 8.4. He is the evolved version of the standard Hammerhead Shark. You can change the evolution from evolution to standard and from standard to evolution whenever you want. When firstly released, this was not the case, it was just a cosmetic change.

Abilities[]
As previously stated, DarkHammer is an upgraded version of the Hammerhead Shark with higher stats and special features.
- Summon Companions:
Darkhammer summons three small ghost Hammerhead Sharks that will follow around the map and eat nearby prey before disappearing; this ability must be charged up by eating prey before it can be used. This ability was overpowered as the companions could eat every shark. However this is no longer the case. Astaroth's Necromancy ability is a much more powerful variation of this ability.
- Headshield:
During Gold Rush, he creates an energy shield around his head that will immediately destroy all prey and objects it comes in contact with. Additionally, he is able to break through rocks during a Gold Rush, currently making him the only shark below Leo (Liopleurodon) to have this ability. This ability allows him to consume any enemy in gold rush quickly, as it skips eating animation. It can also much more easily break submarines.
DarkHammer also has an upgraded diet compared to the original Hammerhead, and he can now eat Enemy Great Whites and Megalodons, as well as standard and Mega Mines.

Pros & cons[]
Pros[]
- He can summon three Hammerhead Sharks to fight for him.
- He is the earliest shark to have an ability. The next shark to have one is Shar-khan.
- His bite power, speed, and boost can be further upgraded from the Hammerhead Shark.
- Very slow health drain.
- He can also gain another ten levels, up to level 20.
- Levels up very quickly, once reaching level 10.
- He is not very expensive to buy and can be quite useful, Cheaper than Megalodon
- As powerful, if not more powerful, as/than Megalodon.
- As he is an evolved shark, his pet is the same as regular Hammerhead's pet. Much cheaper than Megalodon's pet and Big Daddy's pet.
- Really easy to get Gold Rush, gets it so often he can gather around 2,000 - 3,000 gold every minute.
- Can break rocks in gold rush.
- Shield is useful against submarines and consumes prey quickly.
- Slightly better than Shar-khan.
- (Subjective) He spawns near the Giant Crab accompanied by his decent stats allows efficient farming of gems for beginners.
Cons[]
- The summoned sharks can go off screen and lose their ability, this happens often in Gold Rush if you aren't careful.
- Very slow, even when boosting.
- Extremely vulnerable against submarines without Lava Baby.
- Some extremely strong enemy sharks can kill him in one bite.
- Can't destroy boats nor can eat Jetskis or King of Summer from below despite being as powerful as a Megalodon.
- Summoned companions can no longer eat any more bigger sharks without a gold rush. Previously could kill even Enemy Viking.
Tips[]
- Get this shark by evolving DarkHammer instead of saving up for the Great White. The DarkHammer is only slightly more expensive than the Great White and is REALLY good for early game, and still a pretty good shark later on.
Trivia[]
- His ability to summon companions to consume prey is similar to that of the Zombie Shark and his mutated version (Alpha Zombie Shark) from Hungry Shark World, who can bite sharks to turn them into zombie companions.
- When first released, DarkHammer was unable to eat mines due to a bug; this was later fixed in v8.5.0.
- Many people consider him to be one of the best sharks despite being much lower tier.
- His skin called Scalloped Hammerhead is based off of a real species of Hammerhead.
- His second skin called Red-Eyed Water Shark might be based off the Red Eyed Tree Frog.
- DarkHammer's jetpack is pretty large like Shar-khan.
