Demon Sharks are a category of sharks in Hungry Shark Evolution. Leviathan is the first, added on May 12th. They have three ultimate abilities and outrank the standard sharks. They turn the water into blood.
They are far more expensive, costing only gems, and in fact 1200 gems as opposed to the usual max of 900 gems for the most powerful standard sharks, and completely dwarf the 300 gem cost of Magmajira and Abyssaurus Rex, surpassing even their earlier cost of 1000 gems.
They have three ultimate abilities and many new powers described in the added images, and are depicted as being vastly more powerful and more robust than their predecessors, the high tier standard sharks. They are massive ultra powerful sea monsters like Behellmouth and Sharknarok and their power most likely rivals or even exceeds the latest highest tier standard sharks.
They are a category of their own, have special cosmetic changes, like bloody water, and red icons. They succeed the order of the special sharks. However, they actually follow the mainstream sharks from Sharknarok in terms of shark type. They can equip regular accessories and are far superior the the regular special sharks. Despite continuing the line after Sharknarok, they retain their own category and are treated as distinct and superior to both standard and special sharks anyway.
Unlocking them also unlocks a new way of gameplay. Specifically, it's like the extinction mode of Hungry Shark World. There are WAY TOO MANY ENEMIES in the game, you will always get hit and lose you multiplier, while it takes ages to get Gold Rushes. However, points are still quick in Gold Rush. Still, the game is too difficult and it's impossible to dominate the game.
Please however keep in mind, that currently, there are four slots for Demon Sharks. Those being Leviathan and three unknown ones. We don't know if it's already planned that only those four of them will exist, though it's possible that this is actually the case. Also, one page says ''the more demon sharks you own, the bigger the transformation''. It's currently purely unknown what that means but it implies that when the other three demon sharks will be added something major is about to happen. We are going to find out in the future.
