Dunkleosteus is heavily armoured with a bony skull and powerful jaws that can crush anything. Dunk is slow but can really chow down and tussle with the biggest enemies out there!

— In-game description

Dunk (Dunkleosteus) is a Rare "Shark" from Hungry Shark Primal. As of version 0.1.4., it is the first shark unlocked in the game (replacing Creto) and is unlocked by default upon starting the game for the first time.

Abilities[]

AbilityIcon PoisonSkin
  • Poisonous Skin: Creatures take damage from touching this shark.

Pros and Cons[]

Pros[]

  • Powerful resistance and durability
  • Great starter shark
  • Best Hunger Resist in the game, at a whopping 1000, allowing it to survive for a long time
  • Currently, second best creature in the game behind Thal
  • Easily tanks attacks from dangerous enemies like Anomalocaris
  • Good for getting high scores

Cons[]

  • Large hitbox makes Dunk vulnerable to attacks.
  • Deals the least damage to prey out of every shark
  • Not agile, making it an easy target coupled with its large hitbox

Trivia[]

  • Dunk is the fourth Dunkleosteus in the franchise unless the Dunkleosteus from Hungry Shark Heroes is counted. The first is Big Daddy, the second is Big Momma, and the third is Mighty Matriarch.
  • It is the smallest Dunkleosteus to appear in the franchise, unless Little Daddy is counted.
  • Dunkleosteus is not actually a shark, but merely a placoderm fish.
  • Its right fin is slightly longer than its left fin.
  • Dunk Fossil

    Dunk's complete fossil

Dunk could be considered the "flagship" shark of Hungry Shark Primal, as it appears in the middle of the loading screen, on the app's icon, and is the first available shark in the game. This makes it the first flagship shark to not be an actual shark, and the first shark on the icon of a Hungry Shark game to not be a Great White Shark (unless Bull Shark which used to be the icon of Hungry Shark World is counted).
