If you are looking for the Hungry Shark World shark, see Great White Shark (HSW).

By far the largest and the deadliest of the sharks. Feed him up to become a ten ton eating machine!

— In-game description.

The Great White Shark is a large playable male shark in all six installments in the Hungry Shark series. He is the fifth shark appeared in Hungry Shark Evolution. He has an evil counterpart. The Great White Shark is the fifth standard shark to be unlocked in Hungry Shark Evolution.

He is the largest extant, non-fictional shark in the game, since the Megalodon, Dunkleosteus, Mosasaurus, and Liopleurodon no longer exist in real life, Alan, Destroyer of Worlds is a frilled shark and along with Moby Dick, Nessie and Kraken which is a giant squid, do not attack humans and Sharkjira, Abysshark, Luminite, Behemoth and Sharknarok are fictional sharks.

Abilities[]

Although he has no Special Abilities like the other standard sharks, he was previously able to lift the Small Fishing Boat out of the water, knocking off the sailors. He is one of the most versatile and efficient sharks, because of his large amount of health, slow health drain, big diet and medium size. The Great White is also skilled at maintaining an aerial presence, as he can eat everything in space, and his health drains much slower than other sharks with a wide enough diet. His small size also makes him more maneuverable, making it easier to eat things like the airplane and Enemy Robo Shark. The large health pool and boost bar makes life in the ocean easier.

Appearance[]

He is of immense proportions, supposedly reaching 10 meters, and is powerful and agile. Mostly having a genuine blue body. With close observation one might notice 3 tattoos on one of his fins. (As mentioned, if you look close enough, you may see a heart tattoo that says "mum" with a small looking anchor on his fin.)

Inspiration[]

The Great White Shark is based off of the actual great white shark, the most infamous and well-known shark in the world. Despite its reputation and in-game diet of humans, great whites actually dislike the taste of human flesh and can't digest the bone to muscle ratio. Shark attacks are usually "test bites" to determine what they are trying to eat.

In real life, attacks from tiger sharks appear more frequently than attacks from great white sharks, although most sharks dislike the taste of human flesh as mentioned previously.

Trivia[]

  • The Great White Shark is named Albert.[1]
  • The Great White Shark in Hungry Shark Evolution is actually slightly larger than the real-life White Shark; it is about 10 metres in length, dwarfing even the largest specimens captured (which are about 9 metres).
  • The Great White Shark needs 25000 points to trigger a Gold Rush.
    • It is just about as large as the Great White Shark in the movie Jaws, which is approximately 10 metres long.
    • The Great White Shark in Hungry Shark Evolution has a blue colouring on its back, which differs from the grey colouring found on the back of a real Great White.
  • This shark is perhaps the best shark to use against a Giant Crab; it has a powerful bite and large health, and, unlike the Megalodon or Dunkleosteus, is small enough to easily dodge the beast's pincer attacks. Plus, its health drain is not as rapid as the two larger fish, giving it more time to fight against the Crab without having to quickly look for other prey to replenish its health.
  • In the earliest versions of the game, the Great White Shark couldn't eat Blue Jellyfish, but this was changed.
  • The Minesweeper Pro shell is found opposite of the Kempy Cave.
  • In the Hungry Shark Shorts series, Great White has a different design. He has lighter skin, yellow eyes, a wider body, and his tattoo is red and has a slightly different look.
  • In older versions, the Great White's diet claimed that it could eat everything, despite the fact it can only eat its enemy version and below. This was later changed to just show its enemy version, then when it was updated to eat Blue Jellyfish, the Blue Jellyfish was shown in its description as well.
  • Its model is identical to that of the next shark, Megalodon. They also share the same animations.
  • At the initial release of the game, the Great White was the last shark.
  • He is the oldest shark in the entire Hungry Shark series.
  • In early versions of Hungry Shark Evolution before Megalodon arrived, this shark was the strongest, largest, toughest and fastest.
  • There is a Great White Shark plushie made by the official Hungry Shark team that labels his tattoos with actual colors, which the anchor is labeled red and grey above to bottom while the small heart tattoo being red with the arrow on it.
