Hungry Shark: Part 1 was the first ever Hungry Shark game, and the first game in the Hungry Shark Trilogy. It featured a diverse range of aquatic creatures to be eaten and treasures to be found. The game involves a creature resembling a Great White Shark that has a constant hunger.
There is only one playable shark in Hungry Shark: Part 1. While there is lack of content in terms of playable sharks, the one shark can be expanded to the "Mega Shark" by watching 15 videos or purchasing it with real money.
On initial release, two versions of the game existed: the "full" Part 1, which could be purchased for 4.99 USD with no interruptions, and Hungry Shark Free, a demo version with a maximum score cap and time limit. The demo version can also be upgraded to the full version by watching 20 ads. This also is the case for Hungry Shark: Part 2 and 3.

Trivia[]
- The Moon on a Stick's name is read out by a voice when collected.
- Jellyfish have a different design in this game from Part 2 and 3.
- As the game is no longer available via the Play Store or App Store, watching ads to unlock certain features such as the Blood Bath and Mega Shark will not have any ads play, but will still count as ads watched. The player can repeatedly press the "Watch Ad" button until they unlock the feature.
- Many features from Hungry Shark: Part 1 carried over into Hungry Shark Evolution.
- A wreck of a rocket ship can be found in this game. A very similar wreck appears in the Tiger Shark's spawn point in Hungry Shark Evolution.
- On Feast Beach, as well as the loading screen, a sunken city can be seen in the background. Another sunken city can be seen near the Reef Shark's spawn point in Evolution.
- The Moon on a Stick item appeared both in this game and in Evolution. Evolution's Moon on a Stick formerly played the same sound when collected as in Part 1.
