The Imp is a special enemy shark that debuted in the 2021 Christmas season update. The character is based on the titular character of Dr. Seuss' The Grinch, as evidenced by his furry appearance, green hue, yellow eyes and haggard Santa Claus suit. The Imp is a small shark and is always seen carrying a tattered bag on his right fin.

Behavior

The Imp will generally avoid the player's shark as soon as it enters the screen. However, items with the "Fear" attribute will affect and he will be immobilized and float upside down when approached. When caught, the Imp will always drop coins, gems or items.

Trivia

• The Baby Imp was introduced as an assist shark along the character. His beta version was referred to as "Baby Grinch" in glitched Limited Offer popups that appeared shortly before the update release, though the image used in them was of a Reef Shark.
• Imp was the first non-violent Enemy Shark.
• When killed, the carcass will be the flesh of a Reef Shark.
