Leviathan is the first (and currently the only) Demon Shark in Hungry Shark Evolution, and the newest shark overall. He was added early in some regions on May 12, 2025 and officially released on May 13, 2025, alongside Version 12.8.2.
Price[]

Discount for 300 gems
He costs 1200 , far more than any other shark in the game. He is more expensive than the max standard shark price of 900 gems and is thus very difficult to obtain. He has no option to be bought with coins. On discount, he can be purchased for 300 gems.
Appearance[]
The Leviathan is a crustaceous shelled beast with cephalopod-like tentacles on his back (resembling the Kraken), crimson red skin, heavy navy-shelled armor on his top body, lobster or crab-like legs on the back of his underbelly, a head with a small horn on his nose, and very large pincer forearms. His tentacles have tiny iron spikes, his main armor/shell seems to be metallic or rock-like in nature, and his underbelly resembles the hard underbelly of a turtle. His Incinerate beam is black and crimson and his rocks are of the same color when he emits both. He can also change colors when wearing his armor and turn dark, similar to Abyssaurus Rex. Overall, he bears heavy crustacean, cephalopod, and chelonian motifs.
Abilities[]
The Leviathan has several completely new abilities, and in fact, three Ultimate Abilities overall, unlike standard sharks that usually have a Gold Rush ability, an Ultimate ability, and a Boosting ability, some with a Passive.
Spiked Armor[]
“ | This temporary armor protects the shark from any kind of damage. | ” |
Leviathan encases himself in tough, spiky stone armor, making him invincible and unable to take damage, including health drain. Very useful in avoiding damage from enemies and maintaining multiplier. However, this ability slows down the shark by a significant amount due to how heavy the armor is. Has a 30-second cooldown.
Stone Burst[]
“ | Multiple burning stones are summoned close to the shark, exploding and killing everything in the area. | ” |
He summons stones around him, which later detonate and cause a huge explosion, killing anything within the range. When used near mines, the stones will detonate those mines, and when used in a minefield, it will cause a chain reaction of mines exploding. Has a 40-second cooldown
Incinerate[]
“ | An incredible fire beam that incinerates everything in front of the shark. | ” |
A powerful black and red beam of energy that destroys everything before his path. Much more powerful than previous shark beams like Sharkjira's and Behemoth's Atomic Breath, or Luminite's Rays of Extinction. As with all other beam-like attacks, Incinerate can destroy toxic barrels. Can only be charged up by eating.
Demonic Aura[]
While not listed, in Demon Rush he exudes a deadly aura somewhat similar to Magmajira's Gold Rush ability, killing prey around him. However, he can still take damage from enemies during demon rush.
Pros and Cons[]

- Ridiculously expensive.
- Its new game mode is very difficult.

Trivia[]
- He bears a heavy resemblance to the Karathen from the DC Extended Universe, as well as the Kraken from the 2010 movie Clash of the Titans.
- The animation of getting on land and getting out of land has a bug and he kinda teleports a little bit.
- He has an ability that isn't mentioned, and that is Walk.
- But it doesn't spawn buildings like Sharkjira, Magmajira, Behemoth, and Behellmouth, this is probably because he's not a kaiju.
- His eating animation when he's on land is punching things.
- Some people thought he was Kraken's Evolution when his teaser came, this is likely because of the tentacles and the eye.
- When Leviathan dies, he will disintegrate into blood, headfirst.
- However, Enemy Leviathan merely breaks into gizzards.
- Despite there being other Leviathans in the form of Enemy Leviathan, it seems as if the "Special Squad" only targets specifically the playable counterpart.
- This may be because the playable Leviathan can cause a sizeable amount of destruction, enough for him to be chained up in hell.
- The mission "Rampaging Little Brothers" implies that Leviathan and Behemoth are related in some way.
- In the bible, Leviathan and Behemoth are both extremely powerful creatures, with Behemoth ruling over land and Leviathan ruling over the ocean.
