Mecha Sharkjira (abbreviated as MSJ) is a male robotic kaiju shark and the fourth Apex Shark in Hungry Shark World.

Description

Mecha Sharkjira can be purchased with 6000 Pearls or by getting him from a Special Offer. (You earn Pearls by playing Extinction Mode.) By completing missions, earning Schematics or buying him from Special Offers, you unlock Mecha Sharkjira's Ultimate Ability by getting 128 Schematics, he makes a huge explosion after Atomic Blast gets empty.

Abilities and Diet

He can eat every single prey in the game, with the exception of Red Jellyfish, Lion Jellyfish, Proximity Mines, Mega Mines and Ultra Mines. However, his abilities can destroy all of them. Unlike the Apex tier sharks before him, Mecha Sharkjira has a higher pearl price, and you need to collect 90 Schematics in order to purchase him with pearls. You can get the schematics by doing Quests for any shark. Mecha Sharkjira has the ability to shoot an Atomic Blast when he is fully charged, and he can also walk on land. When the Atomic Blast is completely empty, Mecha Sharkjira explodes without taking damage, destroying any prey in the area surrounding him. This ability has the possibility to earn a large amount of health if there are many enemies close by.

• Atomic Beam: This ability will kill any prey when touched and destroy prey Mecha Sharkjira cannot normally eat.

• Laser: This ability will kill anything that dares to go in front of Mecha Sharkjira while walking on land.

• Jetpack: Mecha Sharkjira has his own jetpack, and he also can boost on land with it.

• Atomic Blast: Mecha Sharkjira's Ultimate Ability! Can kill all prey on the screen, and can be unlocked by getting 128 Schematics.

Appearance

Mecha Sharkjira is heavily based on Mechagodzilla (a fictional mech created after Godzilla's image). He's the 2nd shark in the game (after Robo Shark) and 3rd shark in the franchise (after Robo Shark HSE and Robo Shark HSW) to be robotic. He looks similar to that of Kiryu or Legendary Mechagodzilla. Mecha Sharkjira has purple robotic parts on his body, and lines that glow to a similar color as his Atomic Beam, which is green in color. He also has razor sharp dorsal fins, and some smaller grey metal dorsal plates. He has small eyebrow ridges on the top of his upper jaw that are yellow in color. He has a laser contraption on his chest with a black-ash like mark on him. Lastly, he has a built-in mini jetpack to fly wherever he wishes.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• Moves quickly on land and takes no beach damage.
• Highest health in the game (higher than Shin)
• Huge Boost (999 when fully upgraded)
• Good for grinding and Extinction Mode
• Health doesn't drain too quickly earlier in game, much like Megalodon unlike the other Apex sharks such as Shin Sharkjira
• When he activates the Atomic Blast, he has no health drain (extremely useful when on low health)
• When he self-destructs, he slows down Gold Rush for a while.
• Free jetpack
• He doesn't need to eat or be in Gold Rush for the atomic blast to charge and activate. You can wait until the meter is full for 3-4 seconds.
• Doesn’t need Atomic Blast on land (there is a small blaster that shoots from Mecha Sharkjira’s underbelly while walking on land)
• Slightly smaller than Shin Sharkjira, allowing him to fit in tight areas
• Self-destruct is possibly the best ability in game in terms of destruction/screen wiping.
• Have the second strongest bite radius in the game (can latches on and eat preys very easy).
• Can destroy any vehicle in one hit.

Cons:

• Extremely hard to get with a price of 6k pearls, has not been on the 50% off sales to date, only on 33% ones.
• Huge and can't fit in some places.
• His health drain is arguably faster than that of Cosmic Alan, despite having 674 health while Cosmic Alan only has 604 health in Level 30.
• Some may argue that he is outclassed by Shin Sharkjira (due to Shin’s faster charging abilities)
• Can be buggy (known bugs include permanently slowing down after use of self-destruct even after reviving with gems. Sometimes after a self-destruct explosion, the game may completely freeze and everything will suspend in an infinite exploding animation, forcing you to quit)

Tips

• When Mecha Sharkjira is at low health use his atomic blast to have no health drain.
• Stand still to recharge the atomic blast quicker.
• Use the atomic blast in Gold Rush to earn loads of coins.

Trivia

• Mecha Sharkjira is the most expensive shark to achieve his full abilities if bought indirectly with gems. While the shark himself requires pearls to obtain, the amount of gems needed to buy all the missions to obtain the self destruct ability will reach a value vastly higher than any other shark in HSW.
• In his beta-released teaser, Mecha Sharkjira was originally called "Mechajira".
• Mecha Sharkjira served his task to kill all the Hungry Sharks, but he also had an error that he had a desire of an unknown value of having a task that possibly even Glutwell didn't know: to eliminate the world.
• Mecha Sharkjira is inspired by Mechagodzilla, a mechanical Kaiju that mirrors Godzilla in Toho's Kaiju Series.
  • Oddly enough, even before the release of Godzilla vs. Kong, Mecha Sharkjira beared a strong resemblance to the MonsterVerse's Mechagodzilla.
• This shark doesn't need a Jetpack to fly, because he already has a built-in jetpack with high boost.
  • For this reason, the shark cannot use a jetpack, and the equip button is replaced with "Shark can already fly"
• Mecha Sharkjira can charge his atomic blast faster by standing on land, but make sure to just stand in the same place for about 5 seconds to charge it.
• Mecha Sharkjira alongside the other Apex Sharks cannot equip accessories. In fact they lack a Skin option.
• If the self-destruct ability is used on land, there will still be bubbles as if the ability was performed underwater. This could be a developer oversight.
• His description's letters spell out MECHA: Mechanized Efficient Cleanup Heavy Arsenal
• He is the 3rd playable robot in the series, being preceded by Robo Shark and his HSW version.
• Mecha Sharkjira's color scheme might be inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion.
• He is reprogrammed to be an ally of the sharks, the non-reprogrammed ones who were designed to succeed the playable one are Enemy Mecha Sharkjiras.
• Mecha Sharkjira was added recently as an equippable accessory in the game Growtopia. It has several unique effects on the player, including leaving trails of smoke when moving around, shooting lasers instead of punching, being able to walk on water surfaces, and making the player faster underwater.
  • He is the third shark from Hungry Shark World to be an item in Growtopia, the other two being Megalodon and Sand Shark.

THE STORY OF MECHA SHARKJIRA:

• Mecha Sharkjira is Mecha Kaiju Shark created by Glutwell corporation. His mission: DESTROY ALL THREE PREVIOUS APEX HUNGRY SHARKS. After being deployed, he went about capturing all three previous APEX Sharks, successfully. But before he could do anything, Veteran Great White had stopped him. The reason why he knew is because he hacked into the glutwell corps' server and found the evil plan. He and Sharkjira confronted Mecha Sharkjira in South China Sea were an intense battle ensued. But, Sharkjira was seemingly ''killed'' during the climax of their battle, sinking into the depths of South China Sea. Meanwhile, the Veteran Great White had gone calling all hungry sharks in HSW. At last, Mecha Sharkjira was defected over to the sharks' side and the battle ended. Or did it?
