The Meltdown Shark (abbreviated as MS) is the 3rd Apex shark in Hungry Shark World. He is a heavily mutated version of the Atomic Shark, who is a mutated Tiger Shark, effectively making him the Tiger Shark's second mutated form.

Abilities and diet

He has powerful green bolts that go fast, missile-like bolts that target the nearest enemies. This speed demon has the largest stats (apart from his health) of any shark in Hungry Shark World. He can eat everything except Lion's Mane Jellyfish, Proximity Mines, Mega Mines, and Ultra Mines, But the bolts can consume everything. He is often considered weaker than Shin Sharkjira, Mecha Sharkjira, Abyssal Shark, Mighty Matriarch, and Cosmic Alan but arguably better than Ancient Megalodon or Alpha Zombie Shark.

Appearance

The Meltdown Shark is one of the most powerful sharks in the game when Extinction mode was added, while second being Dark Magic Shark. He appears to have a more characteristic design than his original counterpart, that having 4 eyes with a wing-like fin on his arms and 4 antidotes pressing on his back with also having a literal nuclear bomb, on his back.

Unlocking

To have the opportunity to purchase Meltdown, you first need to own a XXL shark. After that you can buy this shark with 5,000 Pearls you earn from the Extinction Mode However for sale you can buy him for 2,000-3000 pearls.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• Incredibly fast when meltdown is active, making him possibly the fastest shark in game, surpassing even Mr. Snappy
• Absurd stats, especially his boost which at base level is already a staggering 999
• Atomic Bolts can consume anything
• Easy to fill the Meltdown meter
• Can heal from toxic barrels like Atomic shark
• No health drain when charged
• Great for Extinction Mode grinding
• No beaching damage (similar to Mr. Snappy (Mosasaurus))
• Small, and can fit through cracks like Atomic Shark
• In Extinction Mode, slower boost will be no problem to this speed demon
• Can eat Red Jellyfish

Cons:

• Expensive, requires excessive grinding
• Boost speed is not so fast when meltdown is unactive, even Alpha Zombie Shark's boost is far faster
• Lowest health and 2nd fastest health drain out of all the Apex Sharks
• Bolts can explode large mines and can be bad if near
• Be careful when boosting due to having low HP especially around Ultra Mines or during mutations like “Minepocalypse” and “50% Less Health”
• Difficult to use in the Arctic Apocalypse mode due to the Minepocalypse mutation which can prove to be very hazardous with its high speed and low health
• Sometimes Charge Bolt Ability Won't Work

Tips

• Meltdown shark can charge like his orginal counterpart, meaning you can combine the charged components and the Energy bolts to gain even more stamina.
• Always eat to recharge your ability faster.
• Boost while you have activated the Energy bolts ability to get even faster.
• When using a jetpack, try to move in a "Z" pattern

Trivia

• Alongside all other Apex sharks, Meltdown Shark cannot equip costumes.
• Back on the Abyssal Shark update if you go to fast with the Energy bolts it can break then when facing off Ultra mines, he can phase through it like nothing, this was a glitch that was now fixed at some recent update.
• The Meltdown Shark has a nuclear bomb held on his back with arms, possibly the origin of his unnaturally strong stats.
• In contests, other players' Apex sharks can be seen with costumes equipped, despite this not being possible normally. This is possibly a glitch or cheat.
• You don't have to consume edibles to ready the ability button. You can wait for 4 - 7 seconds for it to be fully charged.
• He is the most mutated of all the sharks in HSW due to already having undergone a previous mutation and still being mutated beyond comprehension.
• His name is probably based on nuclear meltdowns.
• In concept art, he originally was going to have a bubble-like visor on his face,
• The description for the Meltdown Shark “Unlimited Power!” is a possible reference to Palpatines’ line from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
