Undersharker is the 12th and currently the final Apex Shark in Hungry Shark World.
Appearance and description[]
Undersharker is an elongated, Eldritch eel-like deity with a light blue underbelly and grayish-blue upper body. He has a large caudal fin, multiple sharp dorsal fins, pink spots glowing with power on his upper back, multiple spikes on his chin, and seemingly broken chains on his sides, in a similar fashion to Mighty Matriach.
Price[]
This shark can be bought for 10,000 Pearls. This is a very high price like the previous four sharks. However, you can't buy the shark directly, as the shark requires either Mecha Sharkjira or Shin Sharkjira to be unlocked first, meaning you need to spend more pearls. Since SSJ requires MSJ to be unlocked first and that you naturally can't unlock SSJ directly either, then the requirement to have the option to unlock one or the other subjectively on his locked screen makes no sense. Unlocking MSJ requires 6000 pearls and also you must complete 90 missions. Unless SSJ goes on discount, giving the only chance to unlock SSJ prematurely and thus revealing the price of 10000 pearls for this shark, at 10000 pearls. However, when a 60% discount occurs, you have the opportunity to buy the shark for only 4000 pearls. If you buy MSJ normally and then Undersharker, both for no discount, you spend 16000 pearls, which is a lot. It's the first three Apex Sharks combined plus an extra 1000 pearls.
Abilities and Diet[]
- Astral Drift: When boosting, Undersharker takes on a spiritual form that pierces through enemies, including Red Jellyfish and Lion Jellyfish. However, it can still get stung by the aforementioned Jellyfish and hit by mines.
- Radiant Overdrive: When pressing this botton, Undersharker spins around a cosmic portal that shoots neon sparks all around, similar to Quantum. (can be used while moving although not fast)
- Neon Sparks: In Gold Rush, shoots green and yellow independent beams, similar to Quantum or the Meltdown Shark.
Pros and Cons[]
Pros[]
- Ridiculously high stats, far higher than any other Apex Shark in the game (except boost actually)
- Slim, allowing him to slip through narrow passages.
- Abilities are very powerful.
- Upgrades are worth the price.
- Can kill all Jellyfish with his abilities.
- Can gain Gold Rushes rather quickly.
- Can fly while boosting in the air, needing no Jetpack.
- Can easily destroy Helicopters and Drones with either ability.
- Can decimate entire populations in Gold Rush.
- If played efficiently, can get even 20 million points in a single minute.
- Great for coin farming.
Cons[]
- Unable to eat Mines while boosting in Mega Gold Rush. This appears to be an oversight.
- Long hitbox makes him prone to attacks from behind.
- Astral Drift only collects the souls of live creatures, not non-living objects like Mines or Garbage.
- Costs a lot to buy and upgrade.
- Can barely move on land when Astral Drift is not used or when out of boost. In fact, in South China Sea, you might get stuck on the Dock Yard and die. This is unfair, because flying requires boosting and yet, even if you boost you can't fly. However, Jetpack sharks can get off land with boosting. Hopefully this will be fixed.
- Cannot fly just above land. If you touch land and stop using boost, you'll get stuck.
- Consumption with Astral Drift is VERY slow. You will most likely lose your multiplier.
- Can't fly without boost.
- Boost is actually much smaller than 3000. It is made certain when compared to the boosting of other sharks who have supposedly lower boost yet it last longer (ie. Quantum)
- Relatively low health.
- Takes a long time for a Gold Rush when no big sharks are nearby.
- Somehow doesn't get as many points as Quantum or Cosmic Alan even when played in a similar style.
- Astral Drift makes mines hit you and sometimes Red Jellyfish sting you.
- Neon Sparks is weaker than Quantum
- Spiritual form doesn't protect against mines and sometimes doesn't protect against Red Jellyfish
- Although better overall than all of the !! sharks, the first five Apex Sharks, and Clowncy, he is usually outmatched by Cosmic Alan, Abyssal Shark, Quantum, Francis and Mighty Matriarch.
- There's a glitch where after you destroy helicopters in the air, will get damaged while flying as if you are stuck in within the helicopter's propeller, thus losing multiplier continuously until that stops
- There is a glitch where while while getting off Astral Drift just after using Radiant Overdrive and get bitten by a shark, you will become immovable and you'll have to either die or quit the game
- Overall has MANY glitches (not eating mines in Mega Gold Rush, getting Stuck on land, getting immovable if bitten, helicopter glitch, slow consumption that leads to Multiplier loss, spirit form not protecting against mines and sometimes Red Jellyfish)
- This shark is overall not worth 16000 pearls and even 10000 pearls, for a shark that has way too many glitches and problems, it's not worth it.
Trivia[]
- Undersharker is the first shark in Hungry Shark World to have a serpentine body type, which is much more common in Hungry Shark Evolution and the ill-fated Hungry Shark Primal.
- He has one of the longest hitboxes out of any playable shark in-game.
